Knowing
how to properly cut and prepare specimens are extremely important and
are very much an art
that can only be developed over time. Experience
and dedicated hard work also help me prepare the very best specimens for display. Very
few meteorite dealers prepare their own
specimens. Of the dealers who do, only a few are truly good
enough to produce specimens that
I offer specimen cutting,
re-surfacing and quality preparation. Charge can be by the hour
or if a specimen is interesting to me,
I may consider a trade of
service for a slice or slices of items being prepared. Doing
this type of trade requires an
agreement be made ahead of time.
All preparation is on a
first come first served basis.
I will only accept items that I
can work on in a two or three week period. I will put your work
order on my calendar and let you know when it is time to send
your specimen(s) so it can
be worked in schedule. Due to my varying work load and event
attendance, there are some months that I don't do any preparation. Contact me for schedules.
Turn older specimens into gems
and restore a meteorites natural beauty by having my quality lab
work on your item.
My preferences are to work on
stony meteorites and to re-work iron meteorite slices. At this
time, I do not slice irons or stony irons.
